A partnership between local law enforcement, seniors and senior service providers
Not only did the Triad’s 2015 Health & Safety Fair dodge the rain that threatened, but more than two dozen vendors shared a wealth of information, took blood pressure and gave away door prizes (including two umbrellas that didn’t need to be opened!). Several local businesses and Triad members provided food and beverages, and radio station WRAR/WNNT broadcast live from the event with interviews of Triad leadership, local law enforcement and senior service providers. The Northern Neck News also was there to cover the Fair.
Exhibitors included AARP, AmeriCare Plus, B.H. Baird Insurance, Bay Aging/Bay Transit, Carrington Place, Commonwealth Assisted Living at Farnham, Essex House, Geriatric Support Services, The Health Nut organic foods, Home Instead Senior Care, Hospice of Virginia, ODCS Protection Systems, The Orchard, Peoples Community Bank, Rappahannock Community College Nursing Program, Richmond County EMS and Fire Dept., Richmond County Sheriff, Richmond County YMCA, River Meadows, Riverside Home Care, State Corporation Commission Insurance Bureau, State Medicare Senior Patrol, Three Rivers Medical Reserve Corp., VA Dept. of Aging & Rehabilitative Services (GrandDriver), VA Medicaid Fraud Unit, Warsaw Police.
A big thank-you goes to Principal Trey Davis and Asst. Principal Todd Davis for use of the Northern Neck Technical Center, Design Printing for printing services, WRAR/WNNT and Northern Neck News for advertising and coverage, and the restaurants who provided food: The Daily, Handy Store (Warsaw), T&J’s Dairy Barn, Relish, Callao Market and Anna’s Italian Restaurant (Warsaw). And of course, Triad member volunteers—Mollie Lovejoy, Joel Abercrombie, Shari Dwyer, Sandie Doptis, Jill White, Lola Hendricks—and our law enforcement team of Sheriff Steve Smith, retired Sheriff Douglas Bryant, retired Police Chief Chris Spare and acting Police Chief Charles Bowles.
